How Was It For You?

29 Jul 2011310
Simply by the numbers U2 360° is the most successful concert tour of all time.  Over two years and two months, the band have played to more than 7million fans in 30 countries on 5 continents.

Since opening night in June 2009, the U2 360° spaceship  has taken off at 110 shows. The set list at the beginning  is unrecognisable from a set list two years later.

But it's not about the numbers - it's about the moment. The moment of surrender.

So how was it for you?
The best show you went to?
The track that captures the spirit of U2360?
The visual or staging feature that took your breath away?
The memories of a rock'n'roll tour that you'll never forget...

dont know what to say anymore
the superlatives have run out!!!! words fail to describe the utter elation and joy of attending FIVE shows, starting Sept 13 , 2009 and ending July 23 , 2011 (for me). I think Chicago - July 5, 2011 was the best performance I saw. St. Louis - special because my two best friends were there with me. Minnesota- SOAKED and U2 "took us higher" I was very fortunate to even attend ONE show- and I got to attend FIVE!! a couple years that will never leave me. Next tour- IRELAND!!!!!!

Two memorable nights for us
On the last tour my wife and I swore we’d do whatever it took to get into the inner circle; we really wanted to be in there. For U2360 it happened, somehow we managed to make it into the circle at the Rose Bowl and Anaheim1, and all I can say is WOW. We had never been that close at a U2 show. From all the fans we met in the GA lines and in the circle to being so close to the band; what incredible, memorable experiences. We felt like we were as much a part of the concert as watching it, with the band sometimes surrounding us and only a few feet away at times, it was often surreal, we almost couldn’t believe we were there. We sang our hearts out to nearly every song, it was pure joy to be there. U2 concerts are more than just shows, they’re an experience that sometimes is hard to describe, but the memories and emotions stayed with us for weeks after each show. Thank you U2 and the other fans we met for two nights we will not forget.

Best Live Band EVER
We saw U2 in Minneapolis, and U2 never fail to disappoint! I was blown away by the amazing stage. It was a technological marvel. The way the way the giant stage expanded and contracted was amazing. Above all, though, U2 are great musicians and showmen with a ton of heart and soul. When I saw them walk out to the stage, I just had a big smile on my face...it was like seeing old friends again. Their music and spirit are so uplifting. It was truly a magical night, and I think the down-pouring of rain just added to it. U2 are a class act!

THe Best Band Ever
I went to 20 shows on the 360 Tour ( TRUE!). I am a long term die hard fan all the way from AUSTRALIA. The 20 shows were as follows: 2 shows in Amsterdam in 2009, 3 shows in Dublin in 2009, 2 shows in Auckland in November 2010, 2 shows in Melbourne in 2010, 2 shows in Sydney in December 2010, 2 shows in Brisbane in December 2010, 2 shows in Perth in December 2010, 2 shows in Montreal in July 2011, Toronto in July 2011, Philadelphia in July 2011 and New Jersey in July 2011. 20 unforgettable shows. Every show was amazing. The early shows played gems like No Line on the Horizon, Breathe, Unknown Caller , Unforgettable Fire, Ultra Violet, Bad etc. The latter shows played Mercy, North Star, Zooropa, heaps of Achtung, Out of Control. I had red zone tickets for over half of the shows. I had the time of my life following the best band in the world around the world. Nothing can prepare you for the joy of seeing U2 live.

All were amazing
What can I say... it is almost like being asked about you favorite U2 song - it is impossible! Been to 7 concerts starting in Gothenburg 31 July 2009 and ending in NJ on 20 July 2011. Loved Breathe as the opening song on the first leg, Paris was amazing due to the fact it was my 30th bday and 9 friends travelled with me having our own little party in the enormous crowd singing and dancing the night away, NJ was perfect as the last 360 experience for me- the stadium is amazing as a concert venue. When in the inner circle and you take a look around it feels like a wall of people surrounds you. On the 3rd leg my fav was Stay... and of course the crowd going crazy when Out of Control was introduced as the final song in NJ. Tomorrow I will think of a different moment making U2 the best band in the world for me - but for now these are the first things on my mind. Thank you for so many unforgettable experiences I cannot wait until you start touring next time - please perform at Roskilde Festival next year - it will be your 30th anniversary since the last performance there... From a Danish fan ;-)

Chicago July 5, 2011
In consideration of four 360 shows - 2009 - Dublin 2 and NJ 1 2011 - Chicago and NJ Chicago 2011 was my top show of the entire tour: "One Tree Hill" and "Out of Control" in one show! I hope they will tour before 2015, yet I am afraid they will not, excepting special occasions and one-offs for promotions.

July 5, 2011; Chicago
CHICAGO was by far the greatest show of the tour. Out of Control and One Tree Hill. Not to mention every other masterpiece they played.

Cash In Nashville, TN
I was at the show in Nashville. When Bono and Edge saluted Johnny Cash with "Wanderer", I knew that was the moment. Almost a month later, and I can still hear it and relive it in my mind. I saw the show twice, once in Houston in 2009 and once in Nashville in 2011. The Nashville show will live in my mind for the rest of my days. God Bless the band.

Moncton, NB, July, 30th
This was the greatest show I have ever seen. I loved U2 since I can remember. I never thought I would have the oppourtunity to see them so close to home. I never thought they would finish the tour on the east coast of Canada and toend up in the inner circle was the cherry on top. Thanks so U2. You gave me a night I will never forget.

Dublin, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo
OK, so I didn’t get to all three concerts but I was at Dublin#1 and listened on line to the others. There is no doubt that the tour evolved from PBBP (Pre Bono Back Problem to POBBP (Post Bono Back Problem) and improved as it went on. The introduction of Scarlet was excellent and the last song of the tour to be 40 was fantastic with Adam and Edge swapping guitars and sides as done of as old. Dublin was excellent - I felt that Bono was really up for it that night. LA on U2.com was absolutely amazing - it was like we were there. Sao Paulo was special as you got to hear the next phase of the tour - I even got a mention on the concert review which was particularly special for me. Technology played a huge part for me in the tour as U2.com, Twitter feeds and You Tube gave you the personal insight that you wanted. Near the end, they did shake things up a bit - for me the highlight was the blind guitarist in Nashville. It will be a while before we see them again. I hope that NLOTH grows on the band and fans and that some of those songs are re-considered for inclusion whenever the next spaceship departs. Eamon Doyle, Ireland

Gothenburg 2 - Electrical Storm
Unforgettable: Meeting Bono in the morning in front of the hotel. Telling him I´ve seen 7 360 shows so far, but missed out on Electrical Storm. Told me: "Hm, we need to consider this then." In the eve, front of stage, half way into the show, he spoke briefly about the encounter in the morning. And then they played Electrical Storm....
