Fifty Days and Counting

12 May 2009108
With the opening night of the tour less than fifty days away it got us thinking about the last tour, Vertigo 05/06.

Were you there ? What are your favourite memories ? Something during the show that took you by surprise ? A moment you'll never surrender ?

September/05. The live debut of Fast Cars. Great setlist on that memorable night. Eagerly anticipating 360. Would love to witness the live debut of Electrical Storm.

Tears
My husband was attending his first U2 concert with me. His father had just passed away 3 months earlier. When Bono started to talk about 'Sometimes you can't make it on your own' and it's connection to his father, my husband began to cry. It was the first time that he a grieved for his father. It was a beautiful moment that we shared.

17 Times!
I was there for 17 Vertigo shows and my best moment was FINALLY making it to see them in Dublin. The best memory I have during the shows was when they did the set with Cry/Electric Co. An Cat Bubh/ Into The Heart! I can't wait to see what's in for ALL of at U2 360!

Milan
I went to 2 gigs in Milan. I was disappointed about the first night because there has been some audio problem and only the front rows were able to listen properly. The second night was a good concert and I was surprised by the Miss Sarajevo performance..it came at mid show and Bono sang this song at his best with so much passion that I still am thrilling only thinking about it. I get married on the Saturday before Milan show and will be there with my wife, leaving for honey moon the day after....how could we start better??

Chicago!!
My wife and I were right along the outside of the ellipse, where his footstep over the security guys were. We got to help hold him up while he sang. The most amazing part was actually hearing him sing, not thru my radio or TV, but right there in person above me. I screamed like a little school girl...

Chicago! Take my wife, please!
Bono grabbed my wife's hand during In a Little While. Then he took her leopard cowboy hat off of her head and sang the rest of the song with it on. After the song, he forgot it was still on. When we all yelled for him to keep it, he said, No..it's your hat and you're gettin it back! Then he placed it back on her head and walked to the front of the stage. Exhilarating!!

Croke Park, Dublin Sat night
Fulfilled an ambition to see the band in their home city - brilliant night - got into the elipse thanks to a kind steward - the sound was deafening when they came on stage - I remember during 'Sometimes you can't make it...' - Bono on small stage out front - the usual crowd were all there with their mobile phone cameras, whooping/yelling (missing the moment entirely) - I was only a few feet away and you could feel the emotion of this bloke singing his heart out for the dad he lost - very moving. In total contrast, the excitement of hearing 'Zoo Station' belting out at the start of the encore was brilliant - I didn't get to see the Zoo TV tour so that was a great treat!

can't believe. 4 years ago!! Time runs too fast... It was my first U2 live. We stood under the downpour for 2 hours before show. The rain stopped at 21:00 precisely when show started. We decided that Bono hava anagreement withHeaven :o) I will never forget lights, music and voice of Bono - impressed me great!!! The strongest emotion in my life :o)) Guys, I love you. Come to St-Petersburg, Russia. We're really waitin' for you for years!!!!

Pearl Harbor
I was at the final show of the Veritgo tour in Aloha Stadium, Hawaii. The weather the was perfect. The show as a few days after Pearl Harbor Rememberance Day. Sensing the mood and the huge military presence in the crowd, U2 opened the show with City of Blinding Lights and Bono appeared on the ramp waving a gigantic American Flag. The stadium all out erupted as he marched around the ramp to join the boys on stage. I will never forget that moment for as long as i live. Thank you very much , Bono, Larry, Adam and The Edge

I can't wait for this tour to start
When you hear Arcade Fire's"Wake Up" come on the PA...the anticipation builds and you know that they are coming on stage. Then the opening of City of Blinding Lights......each time is an amazing experience and it is like I had never seen them play before. Who needs network television or DVR when you could watch U2.

California V Tour
I've been to every tour since Zoo T.V. and next to that V was my favorite. Fondist memory was being shocked at hearing Zoo Station and Electric Co. live, as I thought they'd never play those tunes again. Can't wait for 360 at the Rose Bowl.

V tour best since Zoo days!
The band were in fantastic form last tour. They were beyond greatness. It was as if they somehow meant what they said: "This is our first album and Vertigo is our first single." Unreal energy. Just like a band on tour for the very first time. Trying to make a mark. The Boy trilogy had to be my personal fav. Electric Co., An Cat Dubh, and Into the Heart. Priceless.Lets hope they touch on the early stuff again and mix it in with the new.

vertigo Tour
I show the show in Boston in May of 2005. It was the first time I had ever seen my favorite band...been a fan since the 80's. It was exciting and thrilling and the band sounded perfect! Fondest memory? "Ladies and gentlemen...The Edge!"

Milwaukee
It was great! Got to shake Bono's and the Edge's hands and made into the ellipse... front row against the rail, unbelievable experience that i will never forget. The best part by far was actually seeing them eye to eye and briefly saying hi, something i thought would never happen.
