Jay Z to join U2 as very special guest in Australia and New Zealand

Live Nation Global Touring and Michael Coppel have today confirmed that JAY Z will join U2 as the very special guest for dates in New Zealand and Australia. The U2 360° Tour will visit Auckland, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Perth.

With hits such as 99 Problems, Empire State of Mind and Dirt Off Your Shoulder, and ten Grammy awards, JAY Z is one of the most successful artists of all time. His last record Blueprint 3 was one of the biggest selling records of 2010, and was JAY Z€™s 11th Number 1 album - putting him ahead of Elvis for most Number 1 albums by any solo artist. JAY Z last played Australia in 2006 and he has never played in New Zealand.

The U2 360° Tour kicked off it€™s second European leg in Turin, Italy this month and will visit 17 cities, including Moscow and Istanbul, before finishing at the Olympic Stadium in Rome on 8th October. By the time it reaches New Zealand and Australia, U2 360° will have been seen by over 4 million fans in 2009 - 2010. U2 360°is a unique experience for concertgoers - featuring a cylindrical video system of interlocking LED panels, and a steel structure rising 150 feet from the floor over a massive stage. This staging configuration allows for spectacular sight lines throughout the stadium. In all 5 cities there will be tickets available from $39.90, with general admission floor tickets available at $99.90. Additional reserved seat tickets also available starting at $99.90.

Tickets for the U2 performances in Australia and New Zealand will go on sale Friday, September 3rd at all usual outlets. U2.com Subscribers will be able to buy tickets ahead of the public on-sale.
