U2360° TOUR

Denver, CO, US / Invesco Field
with The Fray

'You who across such distances sent such support to Burma...we thank you, students, teachers, workers, mothers, fathers, sisters, brothers, music fans - U2 fans like me.
'When you raise your voices we hear them in our country and around the world, they are louder than any rock band, then any army, than rocket fire or fighter jet...'

Remarkable moment tonight as the North American tour opened in Denver when Aung San Suu Kyi, sent a video message thanking U2 fans for campaigning for the freedom of the people of Burma.

'Your voices,' she said, 'Are the future - the voices of reason, equality and justice.'

As Bono puts it, Aung San Suu Kyi is to Asia what Nelson Mandela is to Africa and only recently did the military government release her from nearly 20 years of house arrest.
'She's out now and that's very special for us, for U2 fans and for Amnesty International who campaigned for her release,' said Bono, 'This campaigning stuff really works.
'Aung San Suu Kyi wanted to say thanks, but also to remember all the remaining prisoners. This is a message of love from Colorado to south-east Asia...'

In fact this was a pretty unique night all around, the band opening up their postponed US and Canada dates, a year to the night that Bono left surgery in Munich and with a set list transformed from the one that opened this tour nearly two years ago.

Bono thanked a passionate Denver audience for their patience. 'I thank God... and the Germans! Through the wonders of science I'm not just fixed, I'm better! Bono 2.0...'

It was a good moment to introduce the wonders of the band. 'A wonder of nature, Adam Clayton became a father in the last year, still a young buck though!
'Part-Terminator part Duracell Bunny....Larry Mullen Jr on drums...
'In the place where art meets science, the super hero who was bitten by a spider and turned into a nerd...on guitar, The Edge.'

And reiterating his thanks for the patience of the fans, we were into one of the great fan favourites All I Want Is You - one of ten tracks that were not in the show when the band began their first leg of US/Canada dates.

The rain, which had been threatening all week, held off and we were set for a special evening.
Special with the Denver audience welcoming some of their own when The Fray were first up on stage in their home town.
Special because this is the home town of a legendary member of the U2 crew 'who's been looking after Edge's guitars for nearly 25 years. Stand up Dallas Schoo...'
Special because this is Red Rocks country, where Under A Blood Red Sky was recorded... how else would you introduce Sunday Bloody Sunday?
'Where's Red Rocks? Right here!' And it felt like it was.
And special because despite all the predictions in the end the world didn't end - but they'd prepared a song for it. Just in case.
'This is for the Rev Harold Camping.' explained Bono, introducing Until The End of the World. 'Such a disappointment... somewhere feels like the end of world but not right here!'

Did the world end for you tonight... or did it begin again? What was the special moment you'll never surrender, the memory you'll take till the end of the world? Add your own review and post your photos below.

U2 rocked in Montreal!
This was my 2nd U2 show, got my red zone tickets last minute, was lucky to find some and OMG it was soo worth it! The show reminded about me the importance of connecting to the world, touching hearts, and how powerful music is in doing so... Bravo U2, you did it again, you touched my soul and gave me an unforgettable experience that I will hold dear in my heart. Bon retour chez vous Coco :)

A beautiful night!!
This was my first U2 concert; I had wanted to see them live for years, and my dream finally came true in Denver! It was such a treat to hear songs like “Even Better Than the Real Thing,” “I Will Follow,” “Zooropa,” “Miss Sarajevo,” and “Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me” live. And I loved that Bono dedicated “Until the End of the World” to Harold Camping’s failed Rapture prediction! It was just perfect…my only complaint is that I wish I had closer seats! (I was all the way up in section 536) I squealed like a little girl when I saw Bono, The Edge, Adam, and Larry take the stage and I was all smiles the rest of the night. I screamed, I cheered, I sang along to nearly every song, I danced, I got excited when Aung San Suu Kyi appeared on the big screen, and I even got a little misty-eyed during a few moments, especially when the stage exploded into a beautiful light show with “City of Blinding Lights.” It was beautiful…thank you, Bono and the boys, for one of the most incredible, memorable nights of my life. I hope to see you again soon!!

A Night I Will Never Forget
Thanks U2 and the people of Denver, especially some special bartenders at the Stanley Hotel and Westin Downtown, for one of the greatest vacations of my life. It was worth the wait. This was my 7th U2 360 show, and it was different, but flawless. Zooropa was amazing, and it was a great celebration. The transportation system in Denver made this an almost effortless venture. What a great city, and what a historic night.

Wonderful
Amazed at how different the show was from Norman Oklahoma. My daughter had a huge grin seeing each band member walk in. I Will Follow was amazing and we enjoyed the entire show. We are going to St. Louis in July, looking forward to that very much. Thanks so much for a memorable evening.

Awesome Show & Fabulous City
I flew into Denver from Lexington, Kentucky just for the show. This is my 4th U2 concert going all the way back to the Joshua Tree tour in 1987. The show in Denver was everything I hoped for and U2 never disappoints. Fabulous show!

Absolutely Magnificent!!!
The 9 hour drive from Texas was worth every minute in the car. Denver was the second 360 show my wife and I have seen (Las Vegas Oct. 23, 2009)and the first for our 8 year old son, both shows were completely different but equally amazing. The show on Saturday was so enegetic and absolutely flawless. It was great for our family to share the night with the boys from U2. My son has not stopped talking about it and brags to anyone who will listen that he got to see Bono, Edge, Adam and Larry. We hope to make one more show this summer.

Came from Canada and loved it
Terrific show, thanks U2! We have been fans forever and finally got to see you. My favourite part was hearing the entire crowd of ~75,000 singing Where the Streets Have No Name. Collectively we were pretty good!

Finally!
My girls, 7, 10 and 12, have been waiting to see this show since the cancellation. They were very impressed with their first U2 Concert. I really enjoyed the show, but honestly, I liked the set list from the 2009 leg better. For this show we were in the stands and the section I was in was disapointing, no one sang along. But I have GA tickets for St. Louis and Nashville, I know it will be great there!

I was at the denver show!!Amazing show, from beginning to the end. I am a huge Fray fan and they did a great job!!!!! Very impressed. Then U2 came on!!!! I am a huge U2 fan as well. I remember growing up and my older brother playing U2 through the house!! That was my first taste of you guys. Being at your concert changed me. seeing your passion is what i needed. My fav songs--- Magnificent,One,Vertigo,W/or W/out you, but every song was fantastic. Thank you sooo much for giving me a night i will NEVER forget!!!! Bono, I also signed up for the One campaign. My 5 year old daughter recently had pnemonia and she was in the hospital but of course being in the states she got the meds she needed right away and now is back to good. So i cant imagine all the sick children in Africa that arent as fortunate as my children and what they are going through. They are in my prayers. God Bless, thanks again!!! Come back to Denver soon!!!! Victoria

Worth the wait!
So good to hear the band. Always feels like seeing old friends again. Awesome show! Zooropa was a highlight and the poem read by the young lady right before Beautiful Day. Can you post the poem on the website? It was beautiful! Also, what a touching tribute to the One campaigner during Moment of Surrender.

Getting there early??
Hey everyone with GA floor tix: what time are you getting to Invesco to get up close?? In Vancouver for the Vertigo tour, people were apparently lined up starting at 7 am! 10 am too early? Noon? What time are you headed down? Also...Zooropa + Your Blue Room!!

ready to go. Taking my two kids to their first concert ever. Kind of a full circle thing as I first saw U2 at the Rainbow Music Hall in Denver. (next night was Fort Collins Lincoln Center) in 1982. I meet the band in Phoenix on Unforgetable Fire tour. Then one free trip to see the Zooropa opening show in Vegas with the lady who ended up my wife.
