My boyfriend at the time invited me to go see this “Christian band” that was going to be at the Sun Dome. I went with zero expectations of what I was about to see. What can I say except I have been a fan for the rest of my life. Bono was born to be a showman, but his bandmates are up there with him. They have always worked as a unit. I dump the boyfriend but never the band. The only concerts I have missed were the ones where when I had young children.

I was at this show. I was 16, and we camped out for great seats (ah the memory of festival seating). We were among the first in, and got seats in the first row off the floor dead center stage. U2 pulled a kid on stage and he played guitar during Knocking on heaven's door (I think). The show was awe inspiring. U2 were young and raw, they were just starting to come out of their what I call "Anthem" phase. Up until Unforgettable Fire, all of their songs made me want to march. I still have the ticket stub somewhere, I think that it was roughly $15.00.
