31 years ago but still some vivid memories of a great night seeing U2 live for the first time Buying a black 'cut-off' denim War tour shirt (and wishing later I'd bought the t-shirt instead)! Bono climbing up into the gods during The Electric Co The dry ice (shimmering green from the backing lights) as Edge opened Tomorrow with a tin whistle to a hushed crowd The mayhem as Out of Control reach a scorching crescendo I've seen them maybe 10 times since...but none of them could ever top this one

A LONG way back down the road but I'll never forget it. My college friend Tom told me about the band - I'd never heard of them, still coming out of my head banger phase. I bought Boy and October and was hooked for life. I still remember queuing up outside the theatre, Bono's white flag, Bono on top of speaker stacks and climbing round the theatre balcony and that soul-searing music, that's been the soundtrack to my life ever since.
