#AskU2 #U2TheJoshuaTree2017 I was at one of the best shows of the tour in Houston when you kept coming back the additional encore as we chanted "how long to sing this song". I remember Bono saying "...we're not used to being popular..." My question, when did you know that the Joshua Tree album was special? or that it was going to change the trajectory of the band forever?

America is so deep rooted in The Joshua Tree. In 1987 you obviously had a vision of what you wanted America to become. What was that vision, and what progress do you think has been made towards that vision?

I know that the tour is to celebrate the three decades of The Joshua Three album but POP just celebrated its 20th anniversary as well. Are you planning to play at least a complete song from that album during the tour? That album has been sadly left apart since the popmart tour ended.

How did "Exit" go from such a quiet mellow song on the album to having so much energy when played live? Really looking forward to seeing The Edge on guitar for that track on the upcoming tour!

Rattle and Hum is key to how I became a fan. Can we expect a special remastered and reissued Rattle and Hum? The album, b-sides, unreleased tracks from live shows, rehearsals and the studio? Cuts from the film not on the soundtrack released as remastered audio tracks? The film with bonus features like unreleased footage?

During the first Joshua Tree Tour Larry said, “We were the biggest, but we weren’t the best”, while Bono remarked how the tour was “one of the worst times of their musical lives”. Now, 30 years later, many would agree that you have reached the ‘biggest and best’ status. Have you considered this tour as a chance at a ‘do over’ and an opportunity for something that you are now finally ready for?

I’ve been following you since 1982 when you opened for J Giles – now that was an interesting gig.
What emotions or intellectual contributions would you want us long-timers to share with the millennials?
How do we defend our loyalty and commitment when you decide to tour on an album that is older than they are?
I can only confess my personal experiences of how JT lifted me and inspired me but times are different and today’s listeners require more immediate gratification.
Your JT sound IMHO requires a slow simmer and a constant loop – today’s audience doesn’t have the patience. Will you be/ are you challenged to deliver on task? I’m betting you are! Because Rattle & Hum has such a close relationship with the original Joshua Tree Tour, will you include any of those songs on the new tour? May I make a case for Love Rescue Me and Heartland? By the way, the Rattle & Hum film made me want to be a filmmaker. Thank you for that.

Have you all spent much time at Joshua Tree and in what ways were visits to this incredible place inspiring to your creative process in general or in particular? I would love to see the footage of "Bullet The Blue Sky" from The Wembley Staduim gig 1987 the day after the British election that year.
I remember Bono's words he ad libed at the end of the song about how he was walking down The Kilburn High Road yesterday and saw the rain pelting down on the women and children as they run for cover. Those words were very powerful in the context of another Thatcher win and divided the crowds response in two.
It was a magical moment I won't forget.
Bono I would love to hear your thoughts and reflections on that moment

On September 25, 1987 at JFK Stadium in Philadelphia, Bruce Springsteen came up on stage and played "Stand By Me" with you guys. I was there that night and will never forget this incredible moment. Legit Question. Have you ever made love listening to your own music? Joshua Tree was the album of choice for my boyfriend (now husband of 28 years) and I back in the day!
