Unforgettable Bonus

27 Sep 200922
As we reported a couple of weeks ago, special formats of The Unforgettable Fire will feature bonus audio material and a DVD including music videos, a documentary and unreleased live footage from the Amnesty International Conspiracy of Hope Tour in 1986. Here's the 16 track listing for :

The Unforgettable Fire Bonus Audio CD.

Disappearing Act
A Sort of Homecoming (live)
Bad (live)
Love Comes Tumbling
The Three Sunrises
Yoshino Blossom
Wire (Kervorkian Remix)
Boomerang I
Pride (In The Name of Love)
A Sort of Homecoming
11 O'Clock Tick Tock
Wire (Celtic Dub Mix)
Basa Trap
Boomerang II
4th of July
Sixty Seconds in Kingdom Come

As the comments on our earlier story have been suggesting, The Unforgettable Fire - with the arrival of Brian Eno and Danny Lanois in the studio - has a special place in the heart for many fans and a lot of the tracks on this bonus CD have been unavailable for a long time.

Two of the titles from those Slane Castle sessions have never been available: 'Yoshino Blossom', and 'Disappearing Act', which the band recently completed. A Sort of Homecoming and Bad are live versions, from The Unforgettable Fire Tour that were on the highly sought after collectors item EP Wide Awake in America.

The version of 11 O'Clock Tick Tock was the b-side to 'Pride (In The Name of Love)' while Wire (Celtic Dub Remix) was previously on 7" vinyl given away free with NME in May 1985.

And The Unforgettable Fire DVD Collection looks like this:

The Unforgettable Fire

An Unforgettable album
Absolutely a masterpiece. It's an amazing album, with a unique atmosphere, great songs, an incredible production. I listen to this album again and again, it never stops to share emotions with the listeners. I wait for unreleased tracks that I know will be very special.

Wire:YES for 360
Yes definetly would like to hear Wire on the 360 tour setlist.

It's all about ..WIRE
"Wire", what a track,...& the Celtic Dub mix is a blast if i remember rightly! If anyone in the band is reading this, Wire NEEDS to be back in the set....

Bummer
Not impressed with this at all ... the bonus CD has very little new stuff for die-hard fans; which is who this box set is aimed at. Just 2 new songs, the rest has been released before. And the DVD - what a joke. The videos have been released already, the UF documentary has been released already ... and I really don't need another 3 versions of both Pride and Bad. Bummer; I'll be holding off buying this. The JT and Boy/October/War packages were great but this really is a missed opportunity.

Unforgettable Fire

Unforgettable
What a great album! Can't wait for the new release and hope some of these tunes will make it into next years 360 Tour set lists!!! P.S. Please come to Connecticut, USA - we have a brand new stadium called Rentschler Field in East Hartford, CT!

Wire....the classic in the attic.
This is my fave U2 album....keeps getting better like a fine wine! But Wire is probably my no.1 u2 track, glad to see the Celtic Dub mix i got from the NME when i was in skinny trousers and pointy boots(can't believe it's back)...i love love love this track, let's see it back in the live set, with shrill Bono tongue rolls and all. It's simply u2 at there most primal!!!

DVD & Bonus CD Content
Good set of tracks on the bonus Audio CD and great to get a few of the 'Wired' remixes out again, would have liked to have seen a live version of 'Wired' make it as it was part of the Unforgettable Fire tour set. The DVD could have also included the Self Aid Dublin May 1986 concert: 'C'mon Everybody','Pride','Maggies Farm''Bad' footage....a missed opportunity?

AWESOME
This is awesome news! I am so excited to get the box set next month! One of my favorite albums. The live footage from this era will be cool becasue that is the only footage of theirs that I haven't really seen much of.

Great news!
The Unforgettable Fire is my all-time favourite from U2 and I can't wait to grab my Box Set. Probably it was just a plot about the Dortmund concert on DVD and there are still at least five good reasons to buy this version anyway: 1. Beautiful and elegant packaging 2. Limited edition = good investment in the future 3. 56-page hard-cover book 4. 5 nice pictures 5. Last but not least - a DVD which is a bit disappointing comparing with the Joshua Tree Box Set DVD containing the Paris concert. But leaving that aside, this is also a nice bonus DVD with material previously unavailable in this format. Now it's time for Rattle & Hum! Long live U2!

Can't wait to get it and can't wait unti
Thank you for putting this together! Please play BAD on Saturday in North Carolina! Please return in 2010, please return to Charlotte, NC next time (Carolina Panthers NFL stadium). Thank GOD for your music and what you do to help the world!!!

Dortmund missing
It is sad that Dortmund is missing and that Maggies Farm is kept off the conspiracy of hope show.

Can I buy it?
OH, it looks good, althought THE DELUXE VERSION OF THE REMASTER WILL NEVER BE RELEASED WORLDWIDE(DAMN!). The same ocurred with The Joshua Tree deluxe: it is only available in USA and europe and if I want to buy to watch DVD, I can only import to Brazil(high price)!
Mr.AdamBomb
Solid material !
Wow, I'll be needing the ultra super deluxe version indeed. Can't wait to get Achtung Baby and Pop as remasters down the road. Especially Pop as the boys never really got to finish that one the way they wanted too.
popfart
One of the best!
I think this is one of their best (if not the best) albums. Looking forward to the release.

magical
Thank you for putting this together. The Unforgettable Fire is just magic.

DVD Material
Looking forward to this! I still have the Conspiracy of Hope show on a very fragile, old videotape. It will be nice to have it on a DVD now! I'd like to see an easter egg too of Bono singing Invisible Sun with the Police too!

U2
One of my absolute favourite U2 albums. I can't wait!!

Dortmund?
Is the concert from Dortmund not on DVD? That would be disappointing! So, I don't buy this box-set!!!

Bonus tracks
Yes I am looking forward to this and while I already have most of the tracks it is always handy to have them repackaged and all on one bonus CD. As in U2's case remixes of original tracks tend to work very well. Bring it on guys!!!

Wire dub
Great to get this again. I had this 7" single from NME and played it to death, unfortunately... So thanks guys for giving it back again!
