'Soft and Cuddly' U2 on CNN This Weekend.

CNN's World Beat gets behind the scenes with U2 on the 2001 Elevation tour this weekend, with a programme that also features the making of the Tomb Raider video.

The programme includes interviews with the band and manager Paul McGuiness, along with producers, directors and show designer Willie Williams.

'We're playing a more intimate kind of venue, the 15-20 thousand seaters," Edge told World Beat. 'Last time we were in football stadiums .... As weird as it might sound the indoor arenas do feel like spaces that we feel comfortable in. The football stadiums are a bit of a challenge for us. They are very big and it's hard to feel the people at the back of the venues.'

'A soft and cuddly U2,' Bono added.

The programme reports from the break in the tour for the bands two-day shoot in Los Angeles to make the video for 'Elevation', the track which also opens the soundtrack of the new Tomb Raider movie. World Beat airs behind-the-scenes footage on the making of the video, which has the band facing off with an evil version of itself and a kidnapped Edge being rescued by the film's star Angelina Jolie.
