1 Jul 2003
'Peter and The Wolf', a boxed set featuring Gavin Friday's narration, Prokoviev's music and Bono's drawings, is set for an autumn release.

The project, which will raise funds for the Irish Hospice Foundation, is a collaboration between Gavin and Bono and also features the work of Bono's eldest daughters Jordan and Eve along with Maurice Seezer and the 'Friday-Seezer Ensemble'

Since its 1936 premiere, Sergei Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf has become a classic beloved by generations and the lavish production of this latest version features 64 pages of Bono's original paintings to illustrate the story. (Check Bono's Peter and his Wolf, left, on the cover of the book.)

According to some early publicity the enhanced CD, which comes with the book, features a fresh and funny rendition of the musical score, narrated in a sly and hilarious reading by Gavin Friday and performed by the Seezer Ensemble. Many U2 fans will have come across the work of Maurice Seezer and the Friday-Seezer Ensemble, including the music he has produced with Gavin Friday for films like In the Name of the Father.

Publication is set for the first week in October and royalties will benefit the Irish Hospice Foundation which works to provide better care for people with terminal illness.
