I travelled from Ireland to see U2 in the U.S. on Vertigo Leg 1 2005. I felt I was more or less the only person at some of the 3 gigs that knew who they were. They got a truly awful reception and it was plain, the majority of the crowd had Zero interest in them, but It is true though, that they were big in Europe long before they were well known in the U.S. There followed all the complaining about them. Well done U2 for picking such a great support act.

Funny how during the first leg of the Vertigo tour almost everybody here was complaining about KOL, and now they have the majority of votes... looks like those guys have gone a long way since then!
