'On Stage With Them'

7 Jun 201020
We've got word that in more than twenty cities across the US and Canada, folks have been getting together to mark the release of the 360° DVD.

From Salt Lake City to Ontario, Cincinatti to Denver, no-one got too down about the postponement of the tour - instead they got up about the release of the DVD. People opened their homes or met in local bars and judging by the early reviews and photos coming in, everybody had a great night.

The DVD ? It went down pretty well too, as you can see below. (More reviews and photos coming up on the U2.com Subscription site).

'Wow, the show was amazing. Shot very well. I did miss not seeing Breathe as the opening but I think Get On Your Boots was an excellent choice to start the electrifying concert. During Beautiful Day, when Bono made the comment about Larry Mullen being right behind you and Larry's subsequent smile, my other cousin said that his smile warmed her heart and that she liked him best...Good girl, I trained her well.'
Kim Caulfield (CatKim), in Ontario

'It felt like we were on stage with them. The Chicago party mirrored the Rose Bowl audience, clapping, screaming, and singing, with 'the boys'. The Chicago party was not unlike standing in the General Admission line, talking about few things other than U2. Some of us never met, yet had the same amount of excitement for the band from Dublin. We understood each other, knew the other party-goers could talk hours about U2 without getting 'you're crazy' stares!
Marianne Hickey in Chicago

'The best thing about the DVD, aside from those 4 lovely boys from Dublin, was the awesome camera work.. there were intimate shots and then sweeping panoramas, there was a view and perspective from every corner of The Rose Bowl. The highlight was I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight. Even after experiencing that version in person, you're still blown away seeing it again on the big screen.'
From Cincinatti

'The people who have never been to a show were impressed. I had one person tell me that they understand now why I totally get into this.'
Michelle Johnson (mich40), Birmingham

'The sound was beyond stunning, especially the tiny nuances of Larry's drums that I don't think could even be heard in the live setting. The expert camera work threw you directly at the massive scale of the stage, and then drew you in to the intimate aspect that the band was hoping to achieve with the Claw. In a blink of an eye, you could go from feeling the heat of the crowd as they bounced up and down to Crazy Tonight, to standing right in front of Bono as he crooned the lyrics of Amazing Grace...'
. Jen Struss (videoqueen) Denver, Colorado

'I was really impressed with the different camera views because my parents and I had been to the U2 360° Rose Bowl show which was awesome. The DVD shows how truly phenomenal the stage is... it sure brought back some great memories.'

'Different singing...
The dvd U2 360 arrived today and although it's a great concert I must say that the new "singing" of Bono is not quite my cup of tea . When you listen for instance to, with or without, Bono sings the song in quite a different style than he used to. But then again it's U2 ( my musical friend and support during my life) so I take that for granted but still hope that he will sing the songs like he used to in the future. Greetings.Garry

I went straight to HMV on monday and bought it, i couldnt wait :D and it didnt disappoint absolute awesomeness. I do hope they bring another DvD l8er this year, like they did back on the elevation tour, or even a live CD, havent seen one of them since Under a Blook red sky way back in 83 :/ either way....... Long live U2! may they rock our hearts forever!

Happiness
Me (48) and my family hubby (50), son (24), and daughter (17) saw the band live at the Rose Bowl and sat grinning like fools as we watched it all again on our t.v.. I know of no other band that means as much to the parents as it does to their children. Simply incredible. The boys from Dublin still have it...

Wonderful
Brilliant concert DVD; some minor omissions and out of sequence (33:3) shots lost some of the live atmosphere; but sound and vision really good. Like being at concert all over again. Thankyou soo much.

Looking Forward to 2011!
I was really looking forward to June 23rd, my first U2 concert but the Rose Bowl 360 DVD is an acceptable substitute considering recent events. The stage is, dare I say it, "Magnificent"! For me the success of a U2 concert DVD is how much Adam I get to see and I have to say that I was pleased with how much of my favourite Bass Man I got to see. The DVD was a great teaser of what I will get to see when the tour is rescheduled. Thanks for the years of listening and viewing pleasure! XO

Great pictures
What fantastic pictures of my fellow fans! Would have loved to have been @ one of those gatherings. Also, I am SO relieved that the editing wasn't as bad as in the preview clips. Whew! Guess that was just 'Vertigo' and 'Breathe.' This DVD really brought the night back to life for me (finally saw myself in 'Walk On." too!). : )

***AMAZING***
Exactly what we all needed to keep us going until we get to see The Best Band on Earth next summer. Can't wait to see them in Toronto. Seen them last summer and fall in Vegas and the show was outstanding. This DVD really is the next best thing to their live show. BONO GET WELL...Thinking of all of you everyday and so excited about the tour!!!!!!!!!!!

Replacement
Ok so the Rose Bowl DVD is no replacement of the real thing that I should have been at last night in Anaheim however it did come really close! The words my friends and family all used to describe it was "Epic"

Just agree
I can just agree with every comment up there! This is the ultimate live-dvd! I've never seen, heard and felt a better live experience at home! You can really hear what special show this one was! I really love it. Great compliment for the mixing work. I think it sounds f*** great!!!! This dvd was really worth waiting for! I'm looking forward to the show in Vienna in late August!
