It's Less Than A Month

5 Jun 2009339
Last time out they floored everyone when they brought back tracks like Electric Co and An Cat Dubh from Boy - and they sounded good as new. Did it get you thinking about other tracks from the back-catalogue you'd love to see in the set?

With less than a month to go until opening night, there's lots of chat online about set lists. So let's say you had the chance to put one song into the show. An overlooked classic from the eighties? An underrated gem from the nineties? Something from Boy, or something from 'Bomb'.

Name that tune.... and tell us why ?

surely its time GLORIA was resurrected. for something more obscure, how about red light or surrender. apart from that bad, ultraviolet, even better than the real thing.

I'm seeing a lot of similar thoughts below. Several songs off The Unforgettable Fire (and the album overall itself) are definitely overlooked classics. I'd love to hear Bad.What a greatsong. A Sort of Homecoming, Wire, Fire (and of course Pride)...I'd be happy with any of them.

I know it says one, but...'In God's Country', words cannot express how much I love that song. Also it would be GREAT to keep An Cat Dubh and The Electric Co, and finally, ANYTHING from October!

I think Acrobat would rock; it is one of the greatest U2 songs ever and I would love to hear it....also A Sort Of Homecoming.

"Last Night on Earth," "Gloria," and "God Part II" are awesome tunes that seem to be all but forgotten. Hearing them would make the 17 September Toronto show a night to remember!

Zooroopa would be the perfect song to bring back. Why, you ask? In my years fighting depression, this song helped me fall asleep. I can't think of a better song to calm a crowd, and yet get them excited at the same time.

It has to be something that they only played on that albums tour and never really played since. Ultra Violet (Light My Way) is a gem on Achtung Baby that should really have gotten more airtime, that is my vote. The ambiance and feel of it would go great with the new stuff.

Heartland is a beautiful song that has never been played live, and should. I'd pay double to hear them sing it, it would be perfect. Exit is also a powerful song I'd love to here.

I would love to hear Zooroopa. The song is lyrically brilliant. I can't think of a more captivating song that blends the fading sound of the 80's into their incoming sound of the 90's.
