'Filming Tonight'

'The band has always been at the forefront of new technology,' explains filmmaker Mark Pellington. 'At the Sphere they're using the highest resolution cameras ever known in the largest screen that's ever been seen… they're pushing the envelope in the way that technology and art and entertainment can intersect for the next twenty years.'

As a show like U2:UV had never previously taken place and a venue like Sphere had never existed, it was essential to shoot the show…  to find out how to shoot the show.

This little film, our latest special, shows you how the team did it… and if you're near Vegas in the next few months you can see the immersive concert film for yourself. Dates and tickets here.

U2 Always at the forefront
I have been watching U2 since Joshua Tree in 87 and every show has been jaw dropping entertainment combined with craftsmanship. U2 for me has made my life so much more fulfilling as I personally have become ONE with them and their music. Im still not sure why they didnt project something really crazy at the sphere for Vertigo! I started working on some ideas just for fun, but im sure there were reason, making the sphere spin may have caused some health issues for members in the audience jajaja love u 2

A marvelous film experience!
I agree absolutely with mothwing. I was fortunate enough to be able to see the live concert in early October 2023 and then again in January-February 2024, but my husband couldn't go either time. He was able to travel to Vegas with me to see the film in October 2024. It's fabulous!! He and I both *HIGHLY* recommend it. Thank you to the band and all of the staff and crew for making the Sphere concerts and the film happen. We appreciate you SO much. : ) <3

Surreal! As if the band is on stage in
Thanks to the U2 Fan Club I was able to watch the movie in a preview run. Having seen the actual show four times, the movie is simply an amazing experience. The aspect ratio at certain points in the movie is so precise that you cannot tell that the band is actually on stage right in front of you! At other times you are given the view from behind the stage looking into the crowd in front, and surrounding the stage - simply awesome! If you were not able to attend one of the 40 Sphere shows, I highly recommend attending this experience. If you did attend and want to experience the show again, this is the perfect way (other than the band appearing again - hint, hint!!) In addition, all the usual effects that the Sphere excels at are on display, from the incredible sound, visuals, wind blowing, and seats and floor rumbling. Viva Las Vegas indeed!!!

Release on 4K/BluRay
100% Agree with thfly16 & cristiu2 a physical release of U2:UV would be awesome for all the fans that can’t get to Vegas. Especially fans that collect physical media, 360 at The Rose Bowl is one of my favourite collectors Box Set, & IE live in Paris. A new 4K remaster got done for “Stop Making Sense” (Talking Heads)

Blu-ray
This should be released on dvd/Blu-ray for those that can't get to Vegas!!

It's a pity the band doesn't release liveconcerts anymore. A 4K stripped down version of the mobie for the people who couldn't get to the show or cinema should get the chance to see the show. And everybody is still waiting in the Heartland JT 30 movie. Release them!
