Bono and Gavin, Jokers in the Pack

23 Oct 2001
Bono and Gavin Friday join an array of Irish artists who have contributed original works for Art:pack, a pack of playing cards raising funds for the Irish Hospice Foundation.

Other artists in this portfolio of the best of contemporary visual artwork include Robert Ballagh, Matthew Barney, Basil Blackshaw, Felim Egan, Guggi, Anne Madden, Patrick Scott, Sean Scully.

In addition to fifty-two playing cards, Art:pack contains two jokers created by Bono and Gavin.

Each artist was given the card size and a number - Ace of Clubs, Queen of Hearts and so on - and asked to design a card. The result is 54 pieces of visual artwork of startling originality and quality.

All the artists contributed their work in aid of the Irish Hospice Foundation, which supports hospice care in Ireland. Hospice care is life enhancing whether it involves residential or home care. It recognises the physical and psychological pain of both the patient and the family. That's why it's called Living to the End.

This pack of playing cards is an ideal present and you can buy them online from today. More at Artpack.ie
