'Africa, Africa, Africa...'

Nearly a hundred U2 photos are up for auction this week. Proceeds will help build and maintain wells to provide clean drinking water in Africa. Start bidding here.

'More than half of Africa's villages lack access to a clean water supply. In many of these villages, women must walk up to ten miles every day to retrieve the day's supply of potable water for their households.'

The U2 photo auction is the initiative of the African Well Fund's annual 'Bono Birthday' campaign and prints include shots from several U2 tours including Zoo TV and Vertigo 05.

And while you're in an auction frame of mind, there's still time to bid on tickets for US shows which are raising funds for Music Rising, the charity set up by Edge to replace instruments musicians lost after Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.
