In Germany for the G8

6 Jun 2007
Die Toten Hosen, Die Fantastischen Vier and Michael Mittermeier, all old friends of U2, are on the bill with Bono and Bob Geldof at tomorrow's Make Poverty History show in Rostock.

The show, aimed at raising awareness of the poorest countries as G8 leaders meet in Heiligendamm, features some of the best known names in German music - including some old friends of U2.

Punk band Die Toten Hosen supported U2 when ZOOTV hit Germany in 1993.

Hip hop group Die Fantastischen Vier opened the show when Popmart toured Germany in the summer of 1997.

Comedian Michael Mittermeier has a reputation as 'Germany's most famous U2 fan'. He was pulled up on stage when U2 played Munich in 1987 - and opened the show for the Elevation stop in Berlin in 2001.
