Breakfast On Pluto With Neil

11 Sep 2005
Bono was treading the red carpet in Toronto last night, attending the world premiere of Breakfast On Pluto.

The film is directed by Neil Jordan, an old friend of the band, and features a star turn from none other than Gavin Friday.

It stars Liam Neeson and Cillian Murphy who were also at the premiere. The tale of sexual identity, political intrigue and Catholic Ireland in the 1970's follows the exploits of Patrick Braden (Murphy) who flees Ireland for London on a quest to find love and a place to call home. 'There he becomes a transvestite prostitute and gets involved in an IRA bombing campaign.'

Meanwhile, still with film - not surprising as the Toronto Film Festival is running here at the moment - Lian Lunson's documentary, 'Leonard Cohen, I'm Your Man' is set to premiere in town tonight. You may remember that U2 spent some time recording with Cohen for the making of the documentary earlier this year. More on this in a little while!
