Bono takes over the editorship of one of the UK's leading newspapers next week as The Independent becomes a media-partner of the RED campaign. If you're in the UK it's your chance to go RED.
With Bono in the editors chair on Tuesday the paper will donate half its revenues to the RED Campaign which is putting the weight of the corporate world behind the fight against HIV/AIDS in the poorest countries.
Word is that Bono is already identifying items for different sections of the newspaper, inputting ideas and commissioning articles on the arts, sport, fashion, health, motoring and politics - as well as special features on Africa.
Partners of RED like American Express, Gap, Converse and Giorgio Armani have created specially-designed products from which a percentage of profits go to help people living with AIDS in Africa.
"People see a world out of whack," explained Bono. "They see the greatest health crisis in 600 years and they want to do the right thing, but they're not sure what that is. RED is about doing what you enjoy and doing good at the same time."
If you're in the UK, make sure you snap up a copy of The Independent on Tuesday - and if you live outside the UK we'll direct you on U2.Com to online material the newspaper posts on the day.
